Does the software include both Business Exit Planning and Business Owner Exit Planning assessments?

Yes. ValuationPro provides both types of assessments because a successful exit requires two things: a sellable business AND an owner who's ready to let go. Our Business Exit Planning covers the company side—financial health, operational systems, market position, and risk factors across 9 modules that impact valuation. Our Business Owner Exit Planning addresses the personal side—your emotional readiness, financial security, post-exit plans, and family considerations across 8 modules. Most failed exits happen because the owner wasn't personally ready, even when the business was. That's why we assess both. You can have a perfect business, but if you're not ready to hand over the keys, the deal falls apart. Both assessments are included in your subscription with specific action plans to address any gaps found.

How accurate are the valuations?

We use the same methods as M&A advisors and investment banks, with real market data updated monthly. While no valuation is perfect, ours match those used in the real world by bankers, and valuation experts.

How does the system validate my financial data?

There is no validation of your financial data, you are responsible for your financial data. The platform performs automatic validation checks including balance sheet balancing, logical consistency checks, and ratio analysis alerts. Please note you are responsible for inputting correct data into the correct accounts.

What does the Exit Planning Assessment cover?

The assessment evaluates eight critical areas of exit readiness: Financial Performance, Industry Position, Operational Systems, Human Capital, Technology & Cybersecurity, Risk Management, Facilities & Real Estate, and Market Competition. Each area is scored to identify strengths and improvement opportunities.

How long does it take to prepare for an exit?

You can do it in two years, but realisticially, exit preparation typically takes 3-5 years for optimal results, though this varies by business size and readiness level. The platform provides a customized timeline based on your assessment results and goals.

What are Exit Planning action plans and how do they work?

Action plans are specific, prioritized recommendations to improve your exit readiness and business value. Each action plan includes detailed steps, timelines, and expected impact on your business value and exit readiness score.
